The FIRST core values are: Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Fun. Judges evaluate teams on these core values in FIRST LEGO® League (FLL) Challenge, but they are also the implicit values of FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Most of all, all FIRST teams work under the values of Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition. All core values descriptions in the boxes below are taken directly from the FIRST LEGO® League rubrics.

Discovery

Team explored new skills and ideas.[1]

Innovation

Team used creativity and persistence to solve problems.[1]

Impact

Team applied what they learned to improve their world.[1]

Inclusion

Team demonstrated respect and embraced their differences.[1]

Teamwork

Team clearly showed they had worked as a team throughout their journey.[1]

Fun

Teams clearly had fun and celebrated what they have achieved.[1]

Gracious Professionalism

Gracious Professionalism is not an explicit core value like the ones above, but is the tenant of FIRST'' and its core values. However, it isn't easily defined and means something different to every individual and team. In general, Gracious Professionalism is about respect for others and sportsmanship during competition.

Coopertition

Coopertition = Cooperation + Competition. Coopertition is another implicit core value. It is about making sure all teams are competing at their best. That means that if a team needs help, other teams will help them to make sure they can do their best in the competition.
